Quote Viewer

Add a View quotes action to X and Twitter posts, then open the post's quote page directly, including from dynamically loaded timelines and profiles.

Quote Viewer restores a View quotes action to posts on X/Twitter. It adds a quote icon to tweet action bars and opens the post’s /quotes route when selected. It also handles timelines, profiles, and tweet pages that load content dynamically.

Open quotes

  1. Visit x.com or twitter.com in the browser.
  2. Find the post whose quotes you want to view.
  3. Select the quote-viewer icon in that post’s action bar. The extension navigates directly to the post’s quotes page.

Quote Viewer is a content-script-only extension; it has no popup or background page.

Download the latest release

The download links always redirect to the latest stable release for this extension.

Install a local build

  1. Clone the source repository, then run bun install and bun run prepare:wxt from its root.
  2. Run bun run --filter quote-viewer build.
  3. Load apps/quote-viewer/.output/chrome-mv3 from chrome://extensions with Developer mode enabled.
  4. Select apps/quote-viewer/.output/firefox-mv3/manifest.json using about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.

Permissions and privacy

The content script adds an action to posts on X/Twitter pages and navigates to X’s own quotes route. The extension does not add Firefox data-collection permissions. Quote data is fetched by the site when you open its route; the extension does not proxy it through a separate service.

Troubleshooting

  • The icon is missing: reload the X/Twitter page and check that the extension is enabled for the site.
  • The quotes page is empty: confirm the post has quote posts and that X/Twitter is available in your browser session.
  • The timeline changes after loading: allow the page to finish updating; the extension supports dynamically loaded posts.
